Drew
Marino:
Spent nine
years ('90-'98) with the NY Mets coaching staff evaluating
and scouting major league players’, working with all aspects of the
game. Drew worked with several managers and coaches such as Dallas
Green, Bobby Valentine, Davey Johnson, Bobby Wine, Jeff Torborg, Mel
Stottlmyre, Tom McGraw, Cookie Rojas, Mookie Wilson, Doc Edwards and
Frank Howard just to name a few. Some of his responsibilities
included creating and developing computer generated scouting
reports, evaluate players strengths/weaknesses, assisting in the
bullpen, and throw batting practice. Drew created and developed
computer software for scouting and evaluation of players. Drew
is currently the bullpen coach for the Hudson Valley Renegades
a minor affiliate team for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Drew was the
Head Baseball Coach at Mercy College ('85-'90)where his teams
made several regional NCAA post-season appearances. In his tenure
there he was named NY State Coach of the Year and NCAA
Division II Coach of the year several times. He also served as
the Head Baseball Coach for the Hudson Valley baseball team in the
Empire State Games for 3 years, where they placed in the medal
rounds each year.
Drew was
an NCAA COLLEGIATE ALL-AMERICAN catcher in 1982 for Concordia
College. Drew was also a major league scout for
Inside Edge, inc.
a major league baseball-scouting firm. He has run baseball camps &
clinics throughout the country for youth baseball for 21 years. Drew
is an outstanding clinician and teacher of the game. Drew is also a
computer/video consultant for
SISCOM
Media and assisted in development
of the NY Yankees computer video system at Yankee Stadium and
Legends Field. In the winter months he is an NCAA Women's, Section
1 Boy's and Girls Basketball Official.
